Pharaoh & Tut need your help!

Not too many people know much about the unsung heroes of cat rescue. Frizz Allen in Arizona is one of them. For umpteen years, Frizz has taken in cats, mainly Cornish and Devons, who have been unadoptable by anyone else's standard. She has taken the old, the sick, and the dying. Now she has two cats, a Devon/Sphynx and a Cornish, who need major dental work and they don't even belong to her.

Pharaoh, above, needs some very major dental work, and Tut, below, needs a tooth extraction. Pharaoh's mouth is a real mess with infected & bleeding gums and he will need multiple extractions. It is possible he could die if the dental work isn't done. Frizz is boarding these cats until the owners can take them back. This is so much better than trying to find them new homes. Who among us would do such a kindness for strangers or the cats of strangers? Frizz has a good veterinarian whom she trusts and she wants to give her the best price possible on the bill. This can't wait.

Frizz made the same offer for an unadoptable 15-year-old Devon girl whose owner wanted her but needed a place for her for a few weeks or months. She's always first one to offer to help in Arizona and in Arizona, there's always a need.

So how about everyone belly up to the paypal bar at www.paypal.com and send Frizz a donation toward this dental bill? Surely you can all spare $20.00? Send your money to this email address gallimimus@earthlink.net. The surgery on Pharaoh is not something that can be put off. He's suffering and Frizz shouldn't have to pay an emergency dental bill for cats that are not hers that she's keeping out of kindness. The owners of the cats won't ever be able to afford it either. But collectively we can afford it and we can be happy to do it.

Frizz wrote this after their surgery Thursday, August 10: "All hopped up on happy kitty drugs, the boys are feeling pretty good right now. Tut had two extractions and Pharaoh only has three teeth left. They are here with lots of antibiotics and pain meds. Dr. D said that Pharaoh's mouth was really really horrible and that they should both feel much better as soon as the extractions heal. The grand total, including a significant discount came to $726.27.

"One thing that the vet noticed is that Tut has some sort of growths on the irisis of both of his eyes. She thinks that he should see an opthamologist.

"In true Cornish Rex fashion, after having most of the teeth in his mouth pulled in an afternoon surgery, Pharaoh wanted dinner with everyone else and was determined to be fed!"
